Shine EY feeding program served 16, 320 portions of Likuni Phala across three centers this quarter. Some children received a brand new pair of crocs shoes- cold weather is currently hitting our area so these shoes will keep tiny feet warm.
Training of the caregivers
Last month Shine delivered 12 sessions on handling HIV/AIDS cases correctly, behaviour management and developing lesson plans. The training focuses on lesson planning and evaluation. Teachers and caregivers understand the reason behind the teaching plan and they form a good bond the children. Sanitation issues are also tackled during the training to ensure that the center is kept clean and that we have a safe space for the children. Training takes place each Friday.
All our teachers received 50 kgs of fertilizer + 25 kgs of maize to see them through this lean period and help prepare for the next harvest.
