A short report on an amazing time in South Africa!
The first two days of the meeting was an introduction to Regions Beyond Ministry, Paul Simpsons led the program to explain what Regions Beyond is all about to all new participants in this conference. The most outstanding activity in this was the values of Regions Beyond Ministry which were explained as follows: being faithful to scripture, thrilled and motivated by grace, empowered by the holy spirit, there for one another’s success, intentional about diversity, embracing the poor, devoted to mission, enthusiastically servant-hearted, humbly led by gifted leadership teams, celebrating the centrality of the local church and shaped by the prophetic.
The Shine Malawi team discovered that the values of Regions Beyond ministry were similar to the values of Shine Relief Trust as the objective of the trust to work with the poor and embrace them so that the poor can also release their full potential through the provision of food, shelter, education and also working on their spiritual being so that the kingdom of God is done here on earth as it is in heaven.
Lessons Learnt and way forward
- Unity and True Love
Jesus used to tell his disciples that you shall be known to be my disciples if you love one another. The Regions Beyond demonstrates this in all their works.
- Heart for Missions and Church Planting
The emphasis on reaching out to nations is one of the things encouraged by Regions Beyond. Missions is the heart beat of God and the great commission to us. There is need for Shine to support more churches planting activities apart from the one at Shine Village. More people who have the call for Missions in Malawi should be connected with Regions Beyond through Shine.
- Leadership Empowerment
There is need to raise more leaders among the youth being supported by Shine. Regions Beyond raises leaders regardless of race or background. There is need for more Shine members and the youth being supported by Shine to attend this wonderful conference, this will be part of empowerment in leadership and seeking the heart of God.
- Relationships and connections as a family of God
By bringing all nations together has made us to interact and make relationships with people from many nations.
