Dulce’s Yorkshire Marathon raises over £500

On 8th October 2017 one brave lady took on the Yorkshire Marathon. Her JustGiving page which has now registered over £500 sponsors reads the following:

“This will be a huge challenge for me as it will be my first marathon. I’ve chosen to sponsor Shine Relief Trust, a charity very close to my heart as it supports communities in Malawi the country I was born. By sponsoring me in this huge challenge you’ll be supporting the fantastic people based in Hull, UK and Malawi who dedicate their lives to generate funding to provide some of the most vulnerable children in Malawi a loving and safe home.”

Our children at Shine Village could not imagine how someone could run for over 6 hours; someone who they had never met cared so much to run all that way!

Shelia, the nursery teacher, helped make a sign which was carefully coloured and sent via WhatsApp! “We just wanted to say thank you especially to Dulce for the great thing she did!”

Shine Relief supports children, carers, vulnerable and child-headed families in their homes and Shine Village is an oasis for the whole community with a church and activities to develop life skills to equip the community to care for more children, build good leaders and support new businesses. Shine School Bursary supports vulnerable students in the community with school fees, books, uniforms and boarding fees. Thank you to all who donated to Dulce’s amazing challenge!
