3rd Shine student at DAPP College

Funds from Shine NZ have enabled another student, Innocent Yasini, to begin his vocational training at Mikolongwe Vocational School in Chiradzulu Blantyre. This is something we are working towards establishing at Shine Village in future years, so in the meantime, those who do well at school must travel to the outskirts of Blantyre to further their education.
Shine Bursary Students do not have support coming from the home and therefore Shine has to help with all costs. Shine has been able to stand in the gap for this family, providing both material and spiritual support, purchasing all the items needed for college down to tissues and buckets!

With the percentage of actual secondary school-aged children attending secondary school being as low as 13%, the ages of secondary school leavers also vary drastically and very few students in Malawi proceed from secondary school on to college or university. MSCE pass rates are still extremely poor.
