Saturday 18th July saw 20 enthusiastic participants raring to go as the forecast showers subsided and we put our feet to the pedals for the scenic 15 mile route 66 Shine Charity Bike Ride 2011 from Cottingham to South Dalton.

A grant has been provided in response to the needs of the 5 families we are supporting. Only one of the families has a parent, a mother and she is crippled by Polio and unable to walk.

We are very sad to report that one of our leading volunteers, Ella, has sadly passed away following her recently being diagnosed with TB and HIV. Ella was instrumental to our feeding programme and leaves 4 children behind. We will be supporting the children she has left behind and the other volunteers following their tragic loss.
