Bursary support for Domasi students

2017 DAPP intake

Shine Bursary supports young people through Secondary School, with some attending the local Secondary day school and others, who have attained the required grades, are based at local boarding schools ( Mulungusi and Masongola)

In 2016 we helped two pupils from Masongola Secondary secure places at DAPP College in Blantyre and recently a further student has also acquired a place at the same college

The funding to secure these placements was only made possible thanks to increased giving from both UK and New Zealand supporters. As you can imagine these young people are very grateful, having dreamt of this day their whole lives!

Last year Shine Relief set up the Shine After Schools program with support from Pastor Lino at Shine Village. It takes place every day from 2-4pm and has been a great source of encouragement to many children across our area.  Currently, it has between 40-50 children attending each day for 2 hours. We believe this group will make a big difference to the standard of education in the area.

“The children are more eager to learn and they really love coming. Children once spending most of their time in the fields are now occupied with reading books which inspire them to new and exciting futures”
